Got a taste of this on Harbor Blvd. at Alki Beach over Labor Day. Very wide lane for about a mile OUTSIDE the parking lane. No ‘door zone’ lane marking, but the lane width was very ample. To make things better, the walking path was separate, so the usual car-bike or bike-ped conflicts were minimal to zilch. To frost the cake, Harbor Blvd even has sharrows in the traffic lanes in the same areas where the separate lane exists. This is necessary since the outside cycle lane has sporadic access to the traffic lane.
